On Friday, April 12 from 6.00pm to 10.00pm, Anime Bermuda, a pop culture group on Facebook, will be hosting a ‘Gaming Happy Hour’ at Island Kaddy on Reid Street in Hamilton.
A spokesperson said, “The organisers said that there will be a video game competition, a live streaming panel discussion on the upcoming Avengers: End Game movie, a pop culture quiz, board, and card games will also be stationed.
“Group founder Robyn Swan, along with photographer Glen Tucker, anime line-artist Alexandra Aruda, and the founder and director of SIR, a local media marketing company, organised the event.”
“Robyn Swan started the Anime Bermuda Blog in the hope of bringing Bermudians and their love for the various pop culture fandoms together, including everything from movies, video games, comic books, and anime, a form of animation popular in Japan.
“Ms Swan also co-hosted the Black Panther Experience last year at Specialty Cinema, and she noted that the event went viral with multiple public figures seen dancing with the H&H Gombeys and Code Red Mas models, adding that ‘hopefully we capture some of that magic in this event.’
“The organisers noted that the public is welcome to join the Anime Bermuda Authentic Group on Facebook by contacting the admins as it is currently a closed group; however it will be expanding to the public shortly.”
